Besides... this is a Laser Pointer Forum and not
a Website Store Builder Forum...
There are plenty of informative hits on google

Audience? Products in particular? Advertising? Web hosting? Bookkeeping/ accounting? Copyright/trademark, inventory, assets? You won't get all that for 90$, sadly to say.

Not to mention, if you do go through with this, what's gunna be different about your store to have people wanting to buy from you, instead of anywhere else? What's the demand like? What do you have that other's don't? The 90$ doesn't count :p

PS - I fixed your vulgarity, you're welcome ;)

Advertising would be by giving products to people to test. If you think all I have is $90 you are mistaken, also let's say we give 5 people test products thst cost us $10 it'll be a fairly good advertismemt. I already own and host servers for hosting. Accounting can be done by me. We do not need a copyright to hold a small online store. Why would I need assets?

Product reviews are only good if the masses see
them. What is your mass platform for those reviews ??
You were the one that stated you ONLY had $90...
We can only go by what you post as fact... Unless
it is not.
Assets in a business is all that you own outright...
Such as Inventory... Websites... Office supplies etc.

I'm not planning on starting a mass business. I literally want to host a small dropshipping website. I don't think I need offices or employees for that. Also I said I had $90 to spend on lasers. Not to live off of.

We've had a few good members try and start a store. Remember budget beams.. he was a great guy with great products. I feel our community here is getting smaller by the day. Very few builders around... sheesh did I come into this hobby at the building peak? Seems like everyone was building a few years ago

What country are you located in? If you're in the US it might be a bad idea due to legal issues. Also, the laser hobby as a whole seems to be declining lately (Mostly due to bad press, the loss of advertising from companies like wickedlasers, and the novelty wearing off). Idk if there's enough growth left in this hobby for your shop to be a success.

I would think that you might want to communicate with a few of the existing laser/components businsses that we use here at LPF.
DTR (Jordan), and Survival lasers (Gary) user name "Garoq", would be a good start.
These guys are familiar with the legalities of dealing with government regulations.

Honestly, I feel it's a terrible time to get into a business centered around selling lasers at the moment like some of the others here.

There's just been a lot of declining activity here, and it'd be very hard to undercut a lot of the cheapest Chinese eBay lasers without excellent quality, unique products. I'd say it'd turn out to be a waste of time and money. Look at laserbtb with its excellent cost for quality still going under.

I knew there was a good reason I have stayed away from this thread. Thanks for the confirmation.

Anyone can make a selly website. I will be hosting everything off 2 offshore vpss so there will not be a problem with laws other than getting stuff past customs. For supply we just need to find the drop shipper these selly stores are using.

So you want to make a pretend business out of some else's business?

What do any of them need you for--you have no experience, knowledge, ability --nothing with nothing is still ntohing.

Any legitimate vendor can do what you want to do with what they already offer 100 or 1000 times over in a heartbeat without you? Even any 8 year old child could do what you propose in about an hour.

So why is it anyone needs you for anything??

Do you have money to invest even in "your" business which at this point seems to be minding everone else's business but yours, actually? If not you are just another droloer with no idea of what you are doing hoping to score some easy money and will most likely just be ripping people off because a real business and real work is needed to make real money--not just a brain damage level web site about someone else's business.

Why on earth would anyone buy anything from or through you ?
Do you have a credibility in any aspect or area of business or life----any track record of any kind verifiable by 3rd parties?

I think Maciej deserves a bit of a break here.

Setting up a webshop, using drophshipping or otherwise, is not a bad idea in itself.

As I understand you have the skills required to build the webshop yourself, do the graphical design and all that. This is a good strength and will save you large amounts of money on setup cost otherwise incurred to hire designers/programmers/etc.

What you potentially lack is experience with lasers, certainly when you want the LPF people as your clients. There simply are people on here with much more knowlegde and experience than you (or me, for sure).

On the other hand you could be a bit better than vendors like dealextreme and serveral ebay ones that have no clue of what product they are actually selling, even getting the wavelength or battery type wrong and all that.

I think your market could be people that want a reliable, low power laser at a reasonable cost, not laser experts or enthousiasts. If you can deliver a safe and reliable product at a good price point, can build (and market!) the shop yourself, you can have a chance.

Selling to the crowd on this forum is another matter though, you'll need a LOT of experience and knowledge to make that happen, and it's not likely to make you much money as the DIY factor is strong here.

One thing i would like to point out though: Make sure you cover liabilty issues. Make sure the product conforms to spec (i.e. never output more than the advertised level, and stick to <5 mW). Look into insurance for this was well, you could become liable for enormous amounts of money when there is a problem with your product, certainly if it causes physical injury... that would also include any batteries you sell and somehow explode or catch fire without the user being grossly negilent.

And no, leaving a laser pointer on until the battery runs out is -not- neglicense, people can expect them to work like flashlights. If they do something like that at it sets them on fire it's probably going to be your financial problem.
