I usually get about 2 Spam emails per day. Today I registered for this site and I get about 2 per hour. Has anyone noticed this?

Nope. I barely ever get any spam or junk mail, and it did not increase at all when I registered here at LPF last year. :san:

Me neither, in fact I've been so careful giving out my email that I've had the account for over 5 years and get maybe 1 spam a year. None of which from this forum, or any forum.

On july 13th I started getting spam from hawkresponder.com which apears to be a mass mailing service.
I had been ordering things from lpf and pl beforehand yet it seemingly started immediately after placing an order, it had been a week or so sinced I ordered elsewhere.

Within the email which addressed me as Laserco was a login/password with my first real name burried within it..

What the hell!

Did any of you get this?

That's weird. I don't think there could be any bot out there connected to the forum as I don't think this information is publicly displayed. You would have to have to exploit the forum for it (if possible.)

I can't see why any administrator of this forum would give it out either. So that is weird. Are you registered anywhere else with that same name?

Whenever signing up for something new, or something I'm not too sure about, I just give them my wife's email;) My account is fine. She needs to clean hers out though:) Oops, was that out loud?

You did NOT "order things" from LPF or PL. Neither of them sell anything. You may have made contact with someone that you ordered something from in LPF or PL, but it was NOT LPF or PL that you bought it from.

Who did you buy something from?

Peace,

If you listed your e-mail address in any of your posts that could also be the cause. Bots can pull it from posts. So it's best to only give out your e-mail through private messages.

There are a lot of Chinese spammers that come here, although they fortunately get banned very quickly. Perhaps you posted your e-mail address at some point and those scumbags harvested it.
