So, there was a little bit of chaos on my street tonight...

Did anyone find it funny that only in Canada would people smash windows (loot?) of a shop with hockey sticks!

That is quite bad, but nothing compared to the riots we had not long ago in Cronulla, Sydney.

The hockey stick part reminded me of Ricky from Trailer Park Boys, cleaning his car.

Breaking news: The Vancouver riot was a sham... they were just filming Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Faces to be CGI'd in post-production.

I just found it strange that the Vancouver people thought that the best way to get revenge on Boston and the Bruins, was to destroy their own city...

Maybe it was the Canadian Postal Workers?

I tried rioting after Vancouver lost, but it's too hard to flip cars by myself. Anyways, the Postal Workers are being forced back to work soon.

Jeez, so now the worst team in boston is the Patriots. Those losers haven't won a championship in forever!

So there hasn't been much of a follow up on this whole fiasco on the world stage so let me just point out a few things if I may :

-The few idiots that started the whole thing actually started it before the game even ended.
-They went downtown prepared to start things. Premedatation = going downtown to watch hockey on a bigscreen with thousands of other people and families and remembering to take a molotov cocktail or two with you "just in case" you might "need" one.
-Don't forget to take a backpack full of fireworks too ! (Fireworks are illegal in Canada except for a very few places during the week leading up to Halloween. And the number is dropping fast because of these types of idiots at that time of year too !)
-Not a lot of coverage of the groups of people that banded together to prevent looting is some of the stores or the few that received serious injuries trying to prevent hooliganism.
-Reports of people getting stabbed while ripping the masks off those that needed to bring full ski-type face masks on a balmy spring evening to watch a hockey game.
-And then there are the hundreds of true fans that decended on the area starting at 7 A.M. the next day and started cleaning up the mess that was left behind.

That is hundreds of people showing up to straighten up and make the streets clean and safe for everyone without being asked, without pay or compensation, without even recognition for the most part. Many of them lost a days pay because they didn't go to work.

Now that's a story that would be worth reporting.

BTW. The stupid hockey game prevented me from being able to see the BC Lions stomp the Calgary team 24 - 0 in their home town. Go Lions !
