OK so a few of you know the story about my DX laser breaking ( ages ago ) and some of you will know that I RMAd it, but They havent recieved the laser yet and its been about a month. They cant send me a replacement because I dont have proof of shipping ( either my mum lost it and is blaming it on the post office, or the post office did lose it ).

But anyway, do you think I could just photoshop up a reciept or something and send them that, ill put the actual price on it and what not, as I dont want to scam them or anything, I just want my laser returned ASAP !

I photoshopped my receipt so it was within the price range of them reimbursing me for postage.

It's worth a try I think.

Is it even worth it? I mean, was it an expensive DX laser?

Problem is receipts tend to have serial numbers and stuff. This allows people to keep track of things easier, but also makes it nearly impossible to get away with a solid forgery. No matter how believable it looks, there will be a fake serial number and if they go and follow that up... you're in trouble.

EDIT: el-taco, you would just be changing a few numbers (price), right? You could get away with that since the serials and stuff would be in order, but making up a receipt from scratch would be impossible.

well not impossible just ... hard ...

and yes it was quite expensive $60, which to me is a fair bit just to throw away.

IM trying to get my mum to go to the post office for me and see what they can do, they might be able to make another reciept or something ?

I wouldn't risk it. At best you will get the people at DX mad and you will be sure not to get a replacement. Also you are the one who broke it in the first place and you are technically scamming dx by asking for a replacement. I normally wouldn't mind, but it drives the prices on everything at dx higher when people do this stuff.

BTw I dont mean completely from scratch, I mean like getting one from another shipment and editing the details a little.

Thats what I would to. Sending a small package to China is worth getting a new laser for IMO.

Yes, that is correct. I changed the price.

@ razako : I dont mean it like that, I mean changing the price of the shipping to a higher price, I wouldnt do that. It was only £3.43 anyway. I will just need to see what can be done at the post office.

Yeah, but you'd still need to make up new serial numbers, etc.

I'd say no. $60 may seem like a lot of money, but like Razako said you're technically scamming DX (or at least providing false information). Which is bad.

See what you can do. All in all, you are out of a laser so technically you arent scamming them... You're counter-scamming them since they have your laser (most likely)

yeah thats what I was thinking, I put a return address on it and everything, so if some randomer recieved it they could send it back.

Ooh nice idea, not gonna try it, you would probably get the same sentence as the other for it anyway.
