Well im sure for most of the members here the 4th is a great holiday to break out your lasers for everyone to see

I did the same and it was quite fun and got a lot of attention.

to start i went to my causeway near my house where they have a huge firework show for us to see,

when i was there most people were amazed by my 1600mw 445nm blue laser and my 200mw green laser, and also my 160mw 638nm
:wtf:   :takeit: :pop:

were some of the reactions i received to the monster beams of my lasers

people asked where i got it and what it was, many actually wanted one so this us where my pack if Fasttech green lasers came in handy,
id start by saying i have an extra one for sale for $20 and most people bit right away, ended up making $70 for new lasers :)
before i handed them the laser however i explained the many felonies and eye damages even a lower power one could cause, and depending on how they responded made the sale,
i could have sold a few more, but selling a probably over spec 5mw so really 50mw + to an 8 year old would not end up very well...

one reaction i got was is that a WL Arctic? i responded with lol oh no it is twice as strong as that laser,, and im sure many of you could guess how the rest of the conversation went, yea i heard there was alot of trouble getting the WL blue, they were not shipping out, ect i was like yea there is something called 33 reasons not to buy from them and he was like yea i read that before,
so i actually met a few LPF readers out there, another told me about his RGB 5W laser he has in his house and it was cool to meet another laser hobbiest out there

i also rode my bike around my aera showing off my lasers and even lighting peoples fireworks for them,

these were the best reactions, with my 1600mw blue it was easy, it started with is he really gonna light that ?
to shit, what the hell? did he just do that with a laser?
how?? wait will that hurt if i put my hand there?
can that hurt my eyes?

then id say, focused light, like a magnifying glass, explain how they usually see 5mw ones in classes and id say guess how many mw.. i get, 25, 100, 50, 200? id respond with, umm yea actually 1600mw,,
again enter the holy sh#t Reactions
also yes it will burn your hand and you will probably go blind if i point this at your face,, they assuring them i wont

a few people asked about my goggles so i let them see the laser dot with them on and they were equally amazed and often relieved that i had some

id say my blue one got the most amazement, over the others , but still were very impressed lol

so you guys have any cool laser experiences?

Hmm, I wonder who in Melbourne has a 5w RGB! That's pretty to cool to run into someone like that.

I decided last minute to put up a little laser display that some folks seemed to enjoy. I didn't get any good pics or video of the display but I did shoot a short video of the setup: July 4th setup - YouTube
