Shining strong laser exactly into their beam receiver could work. But it's practically impossible to achieve that from moving vehicle. It's also possible you would destroy their equipment (or sight), which for sure wont lower your fines.
Just obey the f*cking law dude.

It's just basically a mobile speed camera. If you don't want to get your picture taken when speeding, just go over 200mph, the camera won't even flinch ;)

It is quite likely an infrared pulse laser.
The military may have gear to jam it, you can forget about it.

Try search for UK freemen forums, they will have procedures* to use for fighting speeding tickets in court.

*No, it does not work, but is quite entertaining.

Connection is bad now, so no search for links for you.

It is a kind of legal nutters who believe that they can avoid paying mortgages, speeding tickets, child support, etc, by saying the right magic words in court.
They have recently stormed a courtroom in the UK together with the BNP.

Think of it as the "cargo cult" of the legal system.
(You can search the JREF forum for treads on them.)

I don't know for Scotland units, but here in Italy (and almost in any place where they use "laser speed guns") they use 904nm units.
