Most lasers over 200mW burn quite good !
So this should burn well.

Yes that Laser will lit a match real easy, be sure you wear proper eye protection; Safety first.

Actually it's really NOT a good burner.

Vs ~300mW of 445nm with most things the results are not impressive, the ~638nm just isn't absorbed as well.

The other part of the problem is the shape of the dot, which is quite large.

If you want a red laser that burns, stick with a 300mW 660nm... they are single mode, and work much better for that purpose.

If you want more visibility, go with the 638nm.

Make sure while you're at it, you also pick up the proper safety goggles. Bear in mind that 638nm and 660nm are different, so a pair that covers one, may not cover the other.
