So I want to upgrade from my "1W" laser (probably 900mw or so, haven't got it tested yet) mostly to repent my sin of thinking it's "high quality new laser product" . I want a 2-3W laser and I have looked at jetlasers, but they are out of my price range, I have looked at sci-fi, but I don't want to have a month wait time, have looked at sanwu, and although they are very reasonably priced, I don't want something very high quality, I just want something cheap that won't burn out in a month. Any ideas? I am not necessarily looking for laser companies, maybe a member could make me one?

Laser diode and driver sources for DIY are also appreciated.

I'd agree with Sci-Fi lasers as a start, and Sanwu if you got cash to spend.

DTR sells modules, diodes, drivers, lenses and more.

Edit: if you do want to avoid something high quality, try making a flashlight build as a DIY solution. There is a user whos name I can't remember at the B/S/T section that makes custom flashlight heatsinks.

What is your price range?
Also consider looking at O-like. They're sort of the middle ground between quality and price. Not quite up to par with Sanwu/jelasers, but they're still better than the generic crap off ebay.

Check out this laser Alien is selling also.
yeah I don't want 5W, don't want to kill myself :), I have checked o-like, but their 3.5W laser costs $278, and their 2W laser costs about as much as a sci-fi 3W.

you are very picky aren't you? so how much are you willing to spend?

yup, if anyone close to me realized how much money I spend on this they would kill me, i'm looking for a 1.5W minimum for under $200

is that way too low for such a laser? I'm kinda new to this laser thing and have a limited knowledge of electronics other than tinkering with disassembled dollar store electronics so i'm scared to make one myself

Arcane 2.0 445nm
2.6-3 Watts for just around $200

SF501B 445nm Blue
$130 for 2-2.4W

I doubt you can get cheaper unless you build your own.
