OK..Now I understand what you were saying....not in this cell type!

There are defianately Li-ion (LyPo) rechargeables!!!

I fly with them all the time now......

I have stacks of them in the next room!.......

Unfortunately that kit only includes 2 AA batteries. If you search around you can find a better deal on a kit. For example Amazon has a sale on a kit which includes a charger, 8 AA and 4 AAA eneloops. But if you already have a charger I do highly recommend Battery Bob.

They are NiMh ...!!!

Nobody said they were rechargeable lithiums...which don't exist. Well, not as this cell type.

Rechargeable lithiums do not exist, however rechargeable lithium ion batteries do exist as cell types in all different sizes. The problem is they charge up to 4.2 volts before the charge is terminated, and have a nominal voltage of 3.6 volts.

Rechargeable Li-Ion batteries are normally compact prism-type cells. Like in most mobile phones and digital cameras. Internally they work differently to a cell shaped like and AA and AAA.

Huh....when Did I say that?????

What I said was that Energizer E2 kick any Alkaline's butt.....
Energizer E2 kick any NiMh batteries Butt!!!

The only NiMh battery that can even come close to duplicating the Energizer E2 power output is the Eneloop.

To make this plain......In the AAA format.....you either need to use Energizer E2 Lithiums for disposeables...or Eneloops for rechargeables!

Anything else is a Compromise!

Any rechargeable nimh will kick an alkaline batteries butt. The reason is they hold up much better with higher current being drawn from them. Eneloops have been tested to do very well and since they are a LSD (low self discharge) battery they maintain 85% of their capacity after sitting for a year. I no longer use alkalines.

So are you saying rechargeable AA lithium ion batteries don't exist?

You do realise that Ni-MH is alkaline don't you?!

Gazoo - I don't think so no. A rechargeable Li-Ion is a dry cell, whereas a AA or AAA aren't dry cells, as far as I remember they use electrolysis.

I have Li-ion Rechargeble RCR-123's sitting here on my desk....

Plus @ 20-30 Li-Po packs in the Hobby room.....

To tell the truth.....I've never actually seen AA or AA Li-ion rechargeables.......RCR-123 were about the smallest Diameter I have seen...or touched (Owned)

Well I think you have a lot of research to do because they do exist.. ;) And Nimh and alkaline are two different battery chemistries.

FYI....From now on I would recommend getting Li-Ion batteries and chargers from here:

http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/showthread.php?t=170420

AW has been selling these for a while and everyone seems happy with him.

And this is proof that li-ion batteries come in all different "cell" sizes although they are sold all over the place on the Internet.

No...NiMh is NOT an "Alkaline" or disposeable cell...
Nickle Metal Hydride....It is a rechargeable cell....
Better than NiCd since it doesn't form a "Memory" as easily as Nicad.

I have plenty of them I use them as my Primary packs in my RX packs of my planes, and use them exclusively as my TX packs.

Not only that but, Nimh have much higher capacities than NiCd's...

Here's what I was talking about above. This is a great battery!

*** BE CAREFULL HOW YOU USE THEM WITH LASERS. THEY ARE 4.2V peak EACH !!! ***

this link should also help settle some arguments.

The development of rechargeable Li-ion as AA and AA has been quite fast in the past year. I haven't really looked into it for a long time, probably over a year, so I'll take your word for it.

As for being different chemistries, in a way you're right, but both still alkaline.
