1. Is the unlimited duty cycle for real?(how?)
2. How is a 1W laser legal?
3. How is it the world's most powerful handheld laser(Guinness world record) when there's lasers of higher power like 2W?

1) It's not, though it can last for quite a while from what I've experienced/read
2) Depends on your country, laws vary quite a bit across the world
3) I checked guiness and it says the LG hercules is the most powerful, and it usually means "commercial". WL says that so more people buy their stuff. (plus it was a 2007 ad) And just because we sell 2W blues on the forums doesn't mean we're a business commercially selling them. If we count the forums, I think the 5.6W 445 takes the cake.

If you want one, buy it used because the WL Arctic is a overpriced laser. The unlimited duty cycle is for the 1W version (real power 750mW-900mW). I use one in my laboratory for over 20min constant without any issue. Obviously in not the most powerful laser and is legal have one and operate it in your private property but is not legal operate it in public areas (like parks and schools). Is a good laser but not to pay $300 for it.
Also to run it for more than 10min you will need good batteries like the Panasonic 3100-3400mAh.

Who doesn't know it's overpriced? Not planning on getting one.

Right now in February 13, 2013 the half of this thread doesn’t apply. Today the communication with the customer service is good, the shipping time is 20days or less, the product quality is superior and includes power certificate. The SANYO battery is not bad but the charger is too cheaper to charge unprotected batteries without damage it for overcharging. The Arctic laser is overpriced but the laser is well made in my opinion. The new goggles looks cool but are really crap. Only you need to be open mind to see the good parts and the bad parts of WL.
Also the spyder III host is my second good looking host in my list and my first is the new Sinner Secret Weapon. http://laserpointerforums.com/f48/2x26650-custom-host-msssw-sinners-secret-weapon-79594.html

I love how the WL hosts look, but there are members who can build a MUCH better quality laser at a reasonable price point.
