Hi i don't know much yet but I am slowly learning and just had a few questions if anyone was willing to answer them I know these have probably been answered somewhere but for the life of me I cant find the answers.

1. Does this XL-M 100mW 405nm Violet/Blue Laser DOT Module (Laser) or 100mW industrial green laser module [OLGLM100] - $59.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products have the ability to burn objects at any capacity?

2.Are there any issues with importing these into Australia? as I tried to import a green pointer (not a module) from china.

3.If there are no legal issues what other components would i need to buy to power the module?

The 405nm will burn a better variety things than the green.

I do believe anything over 1mW will be confiscated by the Australian customs. But people have gotten them through, so wait a little bit for some Ossies to chime in to tell you how.

My time to shine :na:

Laser modules themselves are not considered as a laser pointer SO under the Australian law technically laser modules are legal to own/import as I've imported many in the past.

Happy lasering!

Every one wants to burn stuff :can: Yeh what they said above don't import full laser pointer you will get caught and a naughty letter sent to you.
Do some reading here and then import Diode, host, driver and battery's good to go......
The modules are interesting as you just need a host and battery's others have said they import fine just may have to try that myself....

It goes into a wall socket by the looks of things, so a power point would be a start ;)

Customs wise... because it's not exactly portable I'd say you'd be fine.

EDIT: You may also want to look into getting some sort of heatsink

So if i was to buy this XL-M 100mW 405nm Violet/Blue Laser DOT Module (Laser) would i have any issue with customs? and if not what would i need to use it minus a host?

I'll sell you a 120mW 405nm module for $50 shipped if you can send the payment through Paypal with in an hour. It runs off 9-12v, and is higher quality than those Chinese modules.

It my anniversary, and I'm leaving in an hour to go away.

Let me know.

Have a look at O-like but TJ is a well respected member, you won't be disappointed!

Happy anniversary buddy

EDIT: If you don't really want a host, try and find a module with leads instead of a spring installed.
