I have a few questions about diffraction gratings. First of all, what types of diffraction gratings do you use the most? And for what reasons? Lines/mm or inch, Linear/single axis or grid/double axis.

I've been looking and it looks like I would be able to sell some of the cheap diffraction gratings for I think a little less than $3 including shipping and PP (inside the USA). If I use normal letters for the "shipping" I can make sure that the shipping to the customer is not too much. Do you think that would be a good idea? The cheapest ones I can find in single quantities are $5.
So I figure that maybe I could help out a few people that want cheaper gratings.

Any thoughts or comments are welcome. :)

or is this just a crazy idea...

Sounds interesting, specially if you can source hard (not bendable) ones.

The one I use the most is 1000lines/mm, linear. I use it mostly to see the spectrum of lamps and verify if two lasers are of the same wavelength.

Unfortunately these would be the cheap, bendable plastic kinds.
