Question about who sells lasers with safety mechanisms

Ok, I'm new here, and I'm not sure exactly this is the right place to post. I've become quite interested in getting myself a moderate powered laser, something in the range of 30-80 mW. The only problem is that I do not exactly trust the people around me, so I'd like to get one with a safety interlock pin or even better, a keyed ignition system.

I have found so far that WL are the only lasers with a safety pin below $200 or so. Is there anyone else? I do like the Spyder III host, but I can't quite stomach the cost, as I'd like to also add optics and other such stuff to my kit. That, and their reputation isn't too strong here.

What do you guys think?

Thank you for your time!

Oh, I should have noted that I am in the US, so DX is (almost, I know of proxy people) out of the question for me. I'd rather go for an FDA certified one, to prevent the issue of customs too. I'll flip through the distributor list again just to check though.

i believe as long as it has a keylock, DX will ship to America.
dont quote me on it though.

Well, I'll see what I can find. Any word on whether Optotronics' pointers have any safety mechanisms? They don't look it, but I really like their proximity to me and how good a reputation of quality they have.

Opto's pointers are the same as the ones they sell on DX, although they're properly screened for output power.

An Aries series laser from Laserglow will have a key switch and safety interlock, so not only will it be legal in the USA but you can also keep the keys and interlock separate from the laser to prevent unauthorized use.

www.laserglow.com/GAR for more info.

Hmm, well, Laserglow's out of my range, so I'll have to look to see who else sells DX's pointers to the US. It's too bad I can't work with known quality cheap, though.

Thanks for the help, all.

Check out o-like.com
and I know rayfoss.com has them, but the rayfoss site is off line now :(
