Question about RckStr driver!!!

i just got my rckstr driver in the mail, i tried to test it with a mini maglite bulb (takes 3v) and nothing happened. heres what i did......

first i soldered two wires onto the driver, one to the LD pad, one to the GD pad. (i didn't know if there was a hole in the soldering to put the wire through so i just melted the solder till the wires stuck)

then i connected the bulb to the wires

then connected my flashlight (2x 3v lithium photo batteries) to the + and - wires that were already soldered to the driver.

nothing happened.....
it's a 250ma fixed output rckstr driver.........

i KNOW that when i push the switch there is power coming out of the flashlight, and i felt the driver like the thing said and i feel no warmth at all........
so did i not solder the LD and GD correctly or do i have a bad driver?.....or did i somehow kill my driver......

You're sure you tried it both ways? The Minimag bulb only works one way ya know.

I don't know what type of bulb you're using, a filiment or an LED?  Because a filament bulb needs more current.

The driver will not get warm if there's no complete circute, meaning the load is not drawing power (or I could be wrong).

Try testig it with a regular LED

As tempting as it may be, try to avoid messing with the pot especially if it is preset where you need it unless you have a multimeter to set it, and an operating dummy load.

You could also lick the wires on the output end to check if the driver is providing power.  Just be careful not to connect the wires because that could destroy the driver. :p

yeah it's not an led light, but it's made for a mini maglite which takes 2xAA batteries, which is 3v.

i'll try to find and led light...or i can just hook up a cheap 5mw laser i got to it..it'll prob blow it but then atleast i know the driver is working.....

ok i just tried testing it with a christmas tree light (tested the light with a AA bttery first and it worked) but nothing when testing ti with the driver...

ok new uppdate: i'm a complete retard!
the driver works perfectly fine. i had mixxed up which wires were which that were coming out of the flashlight (because i was too lazy and just used two black wires.....)

so once i figured that out and got the polarity right, it works great.
