I recently purchased 501B DIY Parts Kit
from sci-fi lasers. I'm wondering if this will be difficult to construct as this is my first laser build :D Are there any tutorials on how to construct the laser anywhere? Also, if anyone could link me to a good pair of safety glasses that will protect me from this laser, that'd be fantastic!

Thanks in advance

Did you ever get instructions or a tutorial? Also, did you receive your kit already? If so what was your shipping time on your kit?

I'm thinking of ordering this kit myself and attempting a build!

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Do you have a copy of the instructions I could see before I order? How long before he shipped it?

Thanks!

I had actually ordered a completed sf501b, but i made a blue 501b (link in signature) a week ago. He shipped it out like 3 days after he had returned from a vacation and built it (it was like 3 weeks after i ordered but he was on vacation)

Unrelated but by following your link it seems that im just getting a "blocked" piece of text instead of the actual web page, i wonder if my ip range has been blocked by Sci-fi lasers.

The us domain is actually down right now; however, the ".com" domain is up and running.

The item we're discussing: DIY 501B kit

Basically you got many threads here on lpf on how to build a laser , make a quick search :)

The kit comes with everything you need. It is very similar to many builds here that other people built.

Driver has a red and black wire. All you need to do is to connect them to the diode ... that is just the general idea about it :)

Hi Pi is correct they are different ways to build a 501 b it depends on the heat sink . I enjoy the hosts there dual cell capability. The one on the left is a 638nm Oclaro 700 set at 1200mA/1100mw out. The purple one is a 12x 405nm set to 450mA/.
The black one with the 510 module is a A type m140/1.8 mW diode set to 1.8mA/ 1700mW out. A nice small package for a medium build with respective duty cycles.

Rich :)
