I'm just looking for a cheap 1 that would do liquid sky and a tunnel effect...

I have been looking on DX and other comparable sites.

I just want to add ambiance to a room......

Thanks everyone ¡¡¡

Genereally you won't find anything all that cheap that'll be able to do a liquid sky and a tunnel effect, as they both require a different setup. For example, the tunnel effect requires a spinning motor, whereas you can't create a straight line with a spinning motor (With a mirror mounted on the front).

In order to get both, you'd have to get a laser projector that had galvanometer (or at worst stepper motor) scanners.

Have a search for the "REKE-500" laser, many people here have them and they're a great price, and will do exactly what you want.

Line generator lens on one module, circle generator lens on another. Switch between the two as needed. <$10 + modules.

I was looking at the rake 500. I am lost on how to control it .....its gonna be just all software based do I need a DMX and all that? Is there a setup that I can use the unit and the computer and no 3ed party unit....¿

Sorry been searching but there's just still a gap in my mind on how all this works!!!!

Thanks everyone

I was looking at the rake 500.

Ah yes, a definite improvement over the Rake 450. It now comes with aluminum handle and 20% more fingers for extra leaf-grabbing capability. I would get the Rake 600 though; it comes with a built-in metal detector so you can treasure hunt while cleaning your yard.

You can control the reke either through dmx... or you can get software and adapter. You can also just set it to respond to sound, and it will cycle through preset patterns. For the moment that's what I'm doing with mine, while I save up.... Laser light show software from Pangolin Laser Systems

Here is an excellent review of it... http://laserpointerforums.com/f52/review-reke-500rgb-laserius-projectorus-cheapus-65851.html

If you want a truly professional setup though... it won't be cheap at all.

If you want something very basic, just to shine some patterns on the ceiling...
Amazon.com: Mini Sound Activation Starry Effects Laser Star Projector: Musical Instruments

Amazon.com: Instapark® GLP03B Green & Red Laser Projector Light, 2011 Newest Version, Color Black: Musical Instruments

Amazon.com: SainStyle SR-10 Sound Activated Mini Laser Light Show With 40 Patterns: Musical Instruments

Add a fog machine, and some music... and for a party at a small location, it works well. I've given out a couple of the cheap ones at gifts, and people who are not really familiar with lasers, always LOVE them.

Obviously they don't do any special effects.

I don't own either of the two in the second two amazon links... but amazon is pretty good about returns if it's defective. I do own the reke and bought four of the cheap $25 dollar ones to date. One of them, the red diode didn't work... actually still need to do something about it :p

Yea ....I get it its a paper weight!!!.... like I said tho all I want is a tunnel affect and liquid sky.... everytime I post about it everyone says don't use stepper motors use a cheap galvo... then it progresses 2 things like the rake 500.... and so on and so forth and before you know it I'm supposed to spend 5000 dollars on a tunnel affect...lol

Cyparagon.... You're doing what your signature says!!!!! Lololol

Will the lenses that you told me about actually create a clean line????

Or a clean tunnel???? All I wanna do is the cutting smoke in half effect! !
