power needed to light wire sparklers?

Has anyone here ever tried to light a wire sparkler with a laser? If so, did you succeed, and how much power did you use?

I imagine the power required must be fairly high because these things seem a lot harder to light than regular fireworks.

I have never tried it but I am sure someone who has will answer, but I would bet money that any 1.5w + blue would do it, maybe it would take a few seconds, you may need 2.5w to light them instantly, don't know without testing.

12 watts does that Twelve? It looks very impressive .I got my 1.4 watt and it works on sparkler had couple left over from a recent birthday party :gun:

Takes 3 watts to light one of the 3 foot long 1/4 inch thick sparklers. I haven't tried the small ones.

it can go much higher than 12... we had it turned down.

More than twelve watts it looks ike a light show even before the beam comes out what power can you get from the unit ?

Well, I found a video of someone doing it with a 1.2 W laser. I imagine a high-end Hercules could do it too if it were focused.
