hey everyone, like ive said recently im new to lasers as a hobby, and also new to this site. Now i have a few cheap lasers, a 5mW green laser from radio shack, and a "50mW" New Wish laser pointer (If it even really is 50mW! you know how those crappy new wish jammy's are!) Well i just pot modded my radio shack laser and boy did it work out great! the funny thing is it was so easy, alot easier then all of these "how to" videos ive seen on you tube. The laser now pumps out a MUCH MUCH brighter beam then it did originally, and its even a bit brighter then my 50mW new wish. so this is for all of you out there who ive seen make the claim that "Pot modding does NOTHING,and its a waste of time!" blah blah blah and all that jaz, well take it from me,if you get the right laser, you have enough patience, and a stedy hand, pot moding is awsome. I must admit i cant burn anything with it,but it is alot stronger then it was! Also i just ordered a 10mW 405nm Blue-ray laser pen from O-Like lasers heres the link if your interested, its a cheapy i know but its my first violet/blue laser and i wanted it to be simple:
405nm 10mW blu-ray pen /adjustable [OLBVL10] - $23.99 : O-Like, Quality Products, Great Prices
Also i ordered a 532nm 200mW monster...i love the way this looks im hoping its all i dream. now i have a question for all of you guys out there who have a bit more experience then me, im on a tight budget (As you can tell with the lasers im forced to buy lol) and i know it would be STUPID of me to be buying this high powered laser and no safty goggles, i mean if it will light matches and burn plastic, pop balloons ect,im sure it will destroy my eye very easily. so finally does anyone know where i can get a pair of goggles for a low price, that will sheild all of the wave lengths im using? 405nm and 532nm, ive seen clear goggles made to shield 808-810nm lasers, do they make clear goggles for the wave lengths im using? any useful advice would be greatly appriciated! Thanks!
