Here in holland doing so is illegal, as are radar detectors and such, but legislation may vary by country and state on this. Perhaps it is allowed as long as the license plate remains readable by the eye.

It's all a bit quirky in terms of legislation here: A couple of year ago they banned radar detectors (or specifically, having one installed in a motor vehicle), but all satnavs do have alerts for fixed speed camera's as well as locations that are often used by mobile radar or laser gun controls. The newer systems even get data reported by others in realtime... that's all legal, odd, isn't it?

Here in Italy they solved the problem in radical way.

For our law, ANYTHING that can be used for detect, jam, cover, interfer or avoid them, is automatically illegal, including records in sat navigators :p

The only thing that they forgot to add to the related law, is to declare illegal to blow out the radar or the patrol with an RPG (and, who know, i maybe can start to considerate it as a possible alternative ..... after all, they cost less than fines and bills ..... ) :eg:
