Paypal Says WL is FRAUD !!

Paypal is by far the preferred means of money transfer on the internet imho. Don't know it from a sellers point of view, but if Paypal truly would be a "freaking fraud" I doubt it would be as popular as it is today.

About the plugin: things like that can be helpful for the more inexperienced buyer, but they should be very careful with generating false positives. Could damage the rep of a trustworthy company. Plain old common sense beats such a plugin any time.

If I could afford the "hit" that would happen by only accepting Google Checkout, I would. PLUS their fees are less - but Pay-Pal is accepted a lot more places - I am simply a disgruntled customer due to a few bad customers, that is all. On the plus side, I have won two disputes that I originated - but the bad taste from providing rock solid proof and having it decided against me really pissed me off to no end. Sorry for the rant

Oh - as far as it being helpful to inexperienced buyers...I REALLY think in order to use the internet period, you should be forced to show a general comprehension of SOME SORT of language, have a minimum equivalent of a 6th grade education (just like all the newspapers write to be understood by the masses), and be able to pass some sort of licensing criteria. If THAT happened - there would be a lot fewer people banging their head on their keyboard out of frustration with dealing with people that really should be at recess instead of on the web. Anyone who knows me KNOWS I do not mean that as an age discriminatory comment - not physical age anyways.... *sigh*

I remember reading somewhere (news article or something) about a guy pissed off at googles fraud catcher thing. Like when you click on a site from a google search it brings up a 'Are you sure you want to go to this site? It seems to be a fraud' or something. His site was perfectly legit, but because of this fraud catcher thing on google he was losing business.

So then that makes you think. Google and paypal may be looking out for frauds, but who is looking out over them? They could decide any legit business is a fraud and effectively ruin it.

i was actually fucked over by paypal for ~$80... they sided with the seller even though most cases ive heard they side with the buyer...

And don't worry, these were the first forums I've been on in years where I wasn't some form of Admin or Mod. So I reckon I've got over that now and figured out how to post like a normal user again

PayPal goes by the number of complaints and charge-backs it processes against a particular site, and that is how they determine which sites they warn you about; How many it takes to be put on their "hit list" is not released to the public though.

I certainly would take extra caution from making a purchase from any site PayPal deems as unsafe.

Imagine not heeding the warning and then you have an issue, you might get "we told you so" OK so they probably won't really say that, but if your using PayPal for the purchase they have had experience already with the site, and you should heed their advice, after all they are simply trying to help prevent fraud; no system is perfect though.

They should have some sort of feedback system, to help out with that "perfect system" everybody wants. Make it so that after a purchace etc. you can say whether it was a good or bad site.
