I already told you on the phone that I tried taking out the batteries and putting them back in several times like you suggested to make sure it wasn't a battery issue.

I offered you an additional $30 to do a quick exchange. When you refused that, I asked you several times for a price quote to replace the diode or driver. You ignored me until you noticed all the negative reps you were receiving. When you finally replied, you still didn't give me a price quote and just told me to give the laser to your friend. This leads me to believe that you would have held my repaired laser hostage until I paid you an outrageous amount. :yabbmad:

I told you I would repair it for free from the very beginning. It was your abuse of the laser diode after you claimed to be a 5 year laser veteran that I was unhappy about. I had never intended for someone to turn on the laser and let it fry for 80 minutes of lasing non-stop.

And for those of you nay-sayers out there saying this was intentional.. REALLY? I am going to claim all my lasers can run until they get RED HOT and burn out? SERIOUSLY?
Thats a wonderful business plan, sell perfectly good lasers with a worthless guarantee that no one is really interested in the first place and then have the laser die right off the bat. I am sure to get a lot of repeat customers.
Give me a little credit here..

I am now offering to repair the laser for free and provide one of my own diodes.

Offering to repair the laser for free from the very beginning is an outright lie. And I didn't think a 10 minute LPM test would be considered "abuse" after you originally claimed an 80 minute duty cycle and said it would be cool to post a graph of the test on your sales thread right after I purchased the laser.

Too late. You never gave me price quotes for repair after several requests, so I already shipped it to a forum vet whom I know will not hold my laser hostage until I pay an outrageous repair fee. If you feel it's the right thing to do, you can pay him directly for the replacement part after he figures out what's wrong, but I highly doubt you will.

Come on, you don´t have to make such a production out of it. I am sure there are plenty of other places where your advertising and support will be more appreciated and you will be able to shift the remaining 17-18 lasers.

Different people have different business plans, depending on whether they want quick sales or repeat customers. Ignorance is also a possibility.

If you switched to this plan now, you'd get just as many repeat customers as you would on your current plan with this thread around!

Glad to see you finally see it....
Even paying someone else to do the repair is quite acceptable....

I am an American serviceman living in Germany, and I have been following LPF for a long time. I have never felt the need to actively join the forum as I just like to read the posts that interest me. Until now. I am going to post this, and probably not come back to LPF.

ALL of you (except for moderator) are WAY out of line! Sparkles said HE would fix it, for flippin' FREE! Why doesn't Watson just give it too him? He says he sent it out already, ok fine... TO WHO?????? He hasn't aswered it yet. Who did you send it to? TELL US!

I think the laser works fine, otherwise... HE WOULD HAVE TOLD US WHO HE SENT IT TO!!!

Sparkles... you need to fix your stuff AND leave

Making double/triple accounts is against forum rules, Sparkles.

That is hilarious, I enjoyed this keep up the good work LPF.

We do need to self regulate like this. We should try and give the hobby laser community a legal fighting chance. We should only allow sellers who are making it there biasness to follow some guidelines on how and "WHO" they sell to. If we stand around and not do anything about people flushing the system through our forums with high powered lasers to a uneducated community will bring out hobby down and away. It doesn't take but a few PM's to have a "idea" who your selling to and at least explain how dangerous miss uses can be.

We wont be able to stop everything but seriously we can help out a lot. If we are reluctant to Post/PM/Report than we deserve to loose our hobby and have out side regulation. That would help but do we really want that? If your making the $$ why not just take a few extra minutes to Try?

Well, technically, any sales of non approved lasers in the US is bad. Regardless of how picky sellers are about who they sell to.

You know what I meant. Bad from a legal standpoint. Which is what Krogith brought up.
