Ordered from LaserPointerPro

I ordered a laser about a month ago from LaserPointerPro and it says on the tracking package : Item held by customs Awaiting presentation to customs commissioner. Will I get in trouble from this or am I ok?

Your ok this is normal, sometimes costumes will contact the shipper to confirm the laser's safety rule before releasing it to you, sometimes not its just on hold, and you get it.

Hm, haven't heard the best things about this site. They're products are apparently very cheap and low quality. There was actually a thread on them, I'll link it:

They're very shady, saying you can get like 5000mw green for 200$ or something like that, I can't remember exactly but from what I've heard they're some very very cheap pointers, that is, if you do ever receive it.

As for your main concern (customs), Canada can very picky about importing lasers. Anything here that is >5mW are not legal to import as a portable laser. If it came with batteries in the same package, then you're in the danger zone. Hopefully it's cheap enough to pass by, but if it's not, they will seize and/or destory the laser and most likely send you a letter saying you have imported an illegal laser pointer. You will be required to reply; I believe somewhere in the letter they say you can chat with them about it if you really want it but... Usually your best option is to just let them seize it, not worth it IMO. But, then again you never know with shipping companies, the message could also mean it's just making it's merry way through customs and not being held. Who knows.

Hopefully it gets delivered, atm it's a waiting game.

The trick to getting past Canadian customs is to have no batteries shipped with it, there would be no batteries/power supply for them to test it with so they would have no legal reason to withhold it or seize it.

If you want to be extra safe, find a way to get the laser shipped with the diode module in a separate parcel from the main host. I recently ordered from Podo (Sanwu Lasers) and he's going to ship it that way to pass customs easily and have a nice fluid delivery.

Impressive that LaserPointerPro ended up giving you a tracking number, I wouldn't expect that from a company like that. Good luck on your order

I purchased a laser from tame long time ago 200mW,i got it like in 3 days,the shipping was from new york !! then i made another purchase 500mW,and this took like 15/20 days and then i got it from new york lol, and later when i purchased a LPM and tested the laser the 200mW was only 62mW i believe and the 500mW was only 58mW i never purchased any lasers from the page its a huge SCAM.,
If i remember correctly tar use to have 10,000mW laser's in 2012/2011 i forgot hehe op:

Oh This laser is fine the dollar store sells the same lasers i purchased two and took it a part and used a wall adapter switch it to 4.5V and the green laser was burning tape it was kind cool,
on one of the laser i used electric tape and keep it on and switch the power from 1.5V to 12V the laser died at 9V and when i saw it was very dim so i pushed it to 12V and it was 100% gone,
so i purchased 4 more at the dollar store to blow up

In the dollar store we have red its very bad i switched the power to 6v and it was burning tape, and the green are cool i have so many laser crystals only
the cost $1+Tax in the dollar store we have some other lasers like 2 in 1 Laser Pointers,

And this is why lasers are becoming more strict because of this
