Thank guys for the advice!

I think I'll hold off on selling the PGL's in case I like them in the end.

About setting up a labby. Don't you just plus the driver into an outlet, then the head into the driver & boom, done?

At least for mine and I think most others, yup.

If it's a proper thing, yes (but you plug the head to the driver first). Mine has 3 parts - head, driver and PSU - all jerry-rigged together. I could build it in a box, but then it'd take up too much space ;)

In some cases you can , but some still need a modulation signal of +5V

laser head is always plugged in first to the driver

I, for one, am going to recommend you build one. $280 is WAAYY too much to pay for a 200mW red laser if it is just 100% duty cycle and labby style you are after. One can be built for much cheaper, with your own custom desires, for a tiny fraction of the price. It can even be done without soldering.

The no soldering method involves buying a 200mW red laser module with driver already attached, sticking it into a heatsink, hook it to a switch, and hook it to a 3V (or whatever) power supply and you are done.

This is something you can do!!

One of these days we will get you to join the dark side of DIY.

Lololol, thanks styropyro :D

At least im not spending tons of money for <5mW reds :)

Also, I saw their highest stability is 5%. Shouldn't 200mW's of 655 with such stability cost waaaaay more?

Ah, can't wait. I get payed soon but want to get an Xbox One also ugh!!!!!!!!:confused::confused::confused:

5% stability is very easy to do for red diode lasers. You can get both the Xbox and the laser if you go DIY on the labby.

No more excuses. It is time to put your hands and brain to use in this hobby. There is so little to lose and a lot to gain from building your own. Even if you screw up your first two times and get it on the third you will have saved a huge amount of money.

What is there stopping you??

That module comes with a line lens. He'd need one with a regular lens.

oops! Try this: 200mW Red Laser Module for Mini Laser Engraving Machine Mini Marking Machine | eBay

I built myself a ghetto labby for my ghetto spyrograph projector. I have ran it for a least ten mins with no heat issues. Prolly spent 20$ total on it. I agree with styro. That is a lot of money for a red labby. I also know how you like your pro looking hosts. So this is really your call.

Yeah. I know I'd save a lot of money, but I reallllly like the look of CNI's labbies honestly. It may seem silly to you guys but that's just where my interest are :)

I'll give it a couple days and see what I do.

Hum, interesting....

Im not sure what I'll do right now. I think I'll get the Xbox One first & give myself more time to think about this before I commit :)

It's time I upgrade, I've had a 360 for 7 years lol :wave::wave:
