Old 5mw "eBay" laser questions.

Ok while the above post has truth in it, I found my results to be different. Upgrading from the acrylic POS that came with my laser DID imove beam from a subjective viewpoint. No measurements made so it could be argued no improvement was made either. Normally acrylic lenses provide excellent beam specs, but this laser is too hot for acrylic lenses and you will melt it, I melted mine. More power means less glass , less glass means worse beam. So for a given diode you can trade one quality for the other by changing optics, however th3re is an overlap where both qualities can be improved I believe, if your upgrading from a very low quality lens as we are referring to here.
