Sorry I got two users mixed up. You and Lazeerer. He did a review on it and said it was 169. Will this laser get through US customs?

Oh, it's possibly the same laser just different sellers.

As for US customs, I can't tell you as I don't live in the US friend.

Ask the guys on here or do a search already - plenty info already on here :yh:

Your asking dumb questions that have been answered numerous times before, but customs rarely seizes laser shipments from outside the country. Only heard of it occurring a few times, never to anyone I know.

Hey guys my 1 watt laser arrived today! I'm so excited. It can burn leaves 2 feet away.

I do have a question though. Is it okay to not where the goggle when outside pointing. Like not burning obviously but just pointing at the night sky because you can't see the beam otherwise. I'm using the glasses that came with it. I might upgrade though.

It's fine to not use goggles when just pointing at the sky in example(make sure to watch out for planes), anywhere else it's a good idea to wear them. You just never know what might happen & 1W is simply too much power to take lightly!

I would consider buying quality goggles, check out Eagle Pair's.

Generally speaking your safe with out goggles, being outside does not necessarily lower your risk of an incidental photon frying your retina though, and they are not worn for general safety they are for the unforeseen accident.

1w is enough to seriously blind you man, be careful and always wear proper eyewear, we all know that we all use our lasers without goggles, a lot. I don't think it means it is a good idea to condone this practice though, it's the laser hobbyists dirty little secret kind of. It's just bad practice to ever suggest to someone they not use their laser shades.

Oh, I deleted cuz I thought I misread your post lol. It's whatever, thanks man! Hey btw congrats on your 405nm! Your gonna like it. Very special wavelength. Also since it's am ebay Pen it's gonna do like 50mw+ all 20 of the ones I've had were in that range, so it'll be relatively bright next to your other lasers. I bet you aren't happy with the beam tho

I told you these things are powerful... I could swear mine is over 1 watt, screw off you module at the front of the laser the long part and read what it says on the module - I posted pics up mine said 1.6watt.

It kills the included batteries so get some better ones like Efest IMR ones.

OH AND WEAR YOUR GOGGLES, THEY DO WORK EVEN THOUGH THEY MAY NOT BE THE BEST - STILL BETTER THAN NON!

I've LPM two versions of this laser as I've said. It is up to the 1.6w spec, advertised output is simply rounded up.

Yeah I ordered some efest from ebay with a serial number for authentication. By unscrewing it it exposes the 1.6w stamp, september 23/2014 on the silver thing.

About charging I have a question. If charging two batteries in parallel, 16340s, I assume I charge at 3.6v charge and twice the milliamp rating? So like if I would do 400mah first I would do 800mah with two? I know if it were in series I would charge 7.2v 400mah but it's in parallel. I'm using a traxxas charger and have soldered the chinese charger bay to some terminals allowing me to use a seperate charger.

About optics though the laser has the crappiest ever. The beam focuses to a pin point at only as far as 6 feet. Meaning it can't pop balloons from far away (about 10 feet max).

When focused at 2 feet it can pop a balloon with just a swipe of the beam.

What charger is recommend for charging the batts. I might just stick to the one I have but I've been looking at a 2 slot nightcore.

The optics can be changed easily. I took the damagrd acrylic out of mine for a 3 element for better results by far.

Will the mRad be better? The dot is about 1cm at 10 feet. I think the beam is about 2mm at the lens. Thats a divergence of about 2.5-2.6. I would like about 1.5-1.8 and still be focusable.

No, the beam spec can't be improved that easily. You would need additional corrective optics to get better beam specs, with a hit to overall power.

The high powered blues aren't the best, by far, for anything at a distance. There all multi-mode diodes.
