First of all, I don't know much about lasers and English is not my native language. So if this post contains stupidities, now you know why.   :)

I've always liked lasers and now I've reached a point where I would like something better than the usual $5 red laser pointer. I looked around and came across Wicked Lasers. Their lasers look nice and they are expensive enough to be good. I was allready accepting the idea that I would probably never own a blue (or blu-ray) laser since they are kinda expensive (on WL). Almost ready to buy a 125mW Fusion laser + lens cap set + a Core, I came across this site and everything changed.

Suddenly I see things like "The only good products from WL are the dragon case and goggles" and great looking alternatives like Sentorches and cheap Blu-ray diodes.

Now that I've seen better products can be bought for less money, I need some advice. I'm looking for a laser with a visible beam, a laser that can burn and a laser thats good for presentations and that is 'unusual'. These things may be combined in one product (but I don't want to hand out goggles at my presentation because the dot is too bright OR set the screen on fire so I don't think burning/visible beam go well with presentations...).

The reason I was interested in the WL was because they look good (nice case), they can burn things (the fusion) and have a visible beam (the fusion aswel). The core was there for the presentations.

So I'm looking for complete handheld lasers (or a kit with REALLY good assembly instructions that anyone can follow and assemble with easy to get/cheap tools) that:
- Have a visible beam (don't care what color, but from what I've seen the most logical choice seems green)
- Can burn (and burn good, I don't want to point it at a match to see it smoke after 5 seconds)
- Are nice for presentations (something cool, no huge output, no green/red, maybe blu-ray?)
Next to that I prefer lasers that look good. I don't like gold (unless it's real gold hehe) or plastic. Metal, smooth surfaces and minimalistic design is what I like. I will go for a product that looks better but costs more, as long as it's reasonable.

If I'm looking for things that don't exist or are stupid then please let me know. If you have better alternatives then please let me know aswel.

I have looked around on this site but I haven't seen everything, so I hope there are lasers that I haven't seen yet that I will like.

So please tell me what choices I have (in lasers that can do the things described above), how much it will cost (estimates) and how to get it, or at least point me in the right direction.

Any help is appreciated, so thanks in advance.

First and foremost, Welcome to the forum!

I think the link you're looking for is here

If you're looking for a lower power pointer, you might want to give this a look.

As for a BluRay, you can try in the Buy, Sell, & Trade Board if you don't want to build your own.

ok thanks!

I've just bought a sentorch for my burning needs, and decided to get a Nova x-105 aswel (because i like green, and everyone seems to like it so it must be good)

I've never so much as held either of those lasers. But while past performance does not guarantee future results, it is a very good indicator. And I've heard/read nothing but good things about those two.
