I recently purchased  3 of the barebones new wish greenies, well while the site was getting some rest I blew the driver board with too much voltage. Im pretty sure the diode is ok, but I dont know what to replace the burnedout piece with. It looks to be part of the voltage in regulator, you can see it in the below pic at the bottom right of the board. Any suggestions where I could harvest a suitable replacement?

The component is labeled 617 on one of the healthy boards, this is one of the pieces that get really hot during operation, with the pot mod at 4.5v it kicks out about 20mw but heats up too easy. Im now looking for any suggestions of possibly putting a different value replacement, to allow for more power if not too dangerous. Anyone got a clue on this?

Was it just 4.5v you were inputing when it burnt up? I am interested to know as the DX blurb, if I remember correctly, says 5v input...Although someone has done a review saying use 3v.

It says 5v, but the board gets way too hot after 10sec on time, I put almost 7v off a wet cell,  :-? :-?PS! Too many sets of aligator clips on the go at once .  They make for a nice and stable 10mw with the pot modded and 3 AAA bats. A bit of mode switching at higher output, but definately worth the money. ;D
