New moderator to replace NairB?!

This is just an idea, to be perfectly honest the moderators we have cope perfectly well as it is. I was thinking that maybe we could all nominate people to become a moderator based on their contributions, not just on LPF, and then we can have a poll on the selection.

Obviously nominating yourself shouldn't count.

As long as the Admin agree and other moderaters agree on who it is, then this is a fair proposal. Who do you vote for sc_bond???

Not sure, it would take some thinkin about. I would have said you or pseudo but you're already one (as if you hadn't guessed) and pseudo doesn't really come here enough, only from time to time.

I spose they would, but if not then the voting could carry on or we take second place. I doubt it would come to that though.

To be completely honest, I do not believe this forum needs any more moderators at this time, though I will definitely miss NairB. What it needs now is a reputation so it can get members. Most of the threads here are quite active, but at the moment most of the posts are by the moderators themselves and a few others. That and the general attitude/air of the forum are what keep me away. Honestly, I find LC a much more enjoyable read than LPF, even though its losing its appeal too (I think I've been posting there much less recently). Well, those are my constructive criticisms, so I guess now its up to LPF to find solutions... if they want to.

Haha, definitely not. I was trying to point out that there aren't really many others here and the most active posters seem to be the moderators. There aren't really many other regulars, and if you go and look at all the long posts here, its pretty much just a chatroom between a few people. I kinda like the diversity of WL more.

This forum is still young Carter it's only a matter of time and we'll get more members, we don't even have 500 members yet but LC has over 5000. So there's a probability thing going on here. "They say it always takes 4 seasons to get thing rolling nicely".

I know that. What I'm worried about is that with its current reputation, the members the forum should want to have, will be scared away. That's just my opinion though and I really don't feel like arguing it, so I think that's all I'll say for now.

Well if we are known as the bad lads of the laser world for speaking our minds i say so be it.
To many people were timid to speak out on the LC in case they got banned. This place is not owned by a laser company... ;)

I would love to hear the bad rap, myself - could be most is invented - kinda like me being a LC terrorist and the like - bad reps aren't always earned - they are given by those too scared to speak the truth.

I agree in a way with pseudo, but I would have actually suggested him to be the new one due to his contributions elsewhere, his help towards myself and many others and hopefully it would bring him on here much more than at the moment.

There are others I'd think about myself but they no longer post in any of the forum, or not that much anyway. People like DavidGojr, black_sheep, Entity and Proctor. Those that have been around for a long while, not just posted a lot.
