OK. So I'm new here and I've read lots of posts about all kinds of things including some of the more ,shall we say, "interesting" comments about KipKay and I would like to point out that my path here went through a video posting of his on Youtube.
The video worked to rekindle an age old desire to experiment and learn about lasers and the latest developments in the industry.
Thanks to him I am seriously excited and developing a long forgotten passion for a "Hobby". Something that I haven't even considered doing for decades !
I hope to be around here long enough to become one of the "wise ones" who help many and ask for nothing in return like a few of the more notables here now.
Granted Mr. KipKay has blatantly avoided the safety aspects in some of his postings, and good for him to even come here and admit it up front ! He is also showing signs of getting serious about correcting the oversights which also should be commended.
I find that too many negative postings from anybody reflects more on who the "Poster" is rather than the subject/person being commented about.
Don't get me wrong. If someone is doing something incredibly stupid don't just wait for the inevitable, but try to phrase the commentary as objective and/or helpful for a positive result rather than just blasting them with negativity. It takes a little more thought and just a bit of patience, but with a little practise it becomes second nature.
This posting is an example of what I am trying to say. I might be a noob to the forum, but I'm an old hand at many other things.

AND just as a pre-emptive posting...no comments needed about anything to do with "hand"s or "old". Thank-you. Your friendly taunts have been predicted...

EDIT- Now feel free to comment as it's my bedtime. I will read up on it all at work tomorrow in about 8 hours...but I can't reply until I'm home.

If you read Kips reputation you'll see we are behind him now that he added a safety plug in his new video. There is nothing wrong with a good old "Roast" to keep the laughs going.

Kipkay will become compliant to the Borg. The Borg must assimilate. I sense a "small" amount of compliance. You must assimilate. Respond by saying "I am in compliance with the Borg", then and only then will you be absolved of past transgressions.

As I said it was just my opinion. You are free to disagree. Im not trying to defend kipkay just trying to promote what I see as a more mature response....but again this is the internetz so maturity is not required.

No, he only put safety In his video to gain some subscriptions from LPf members, that's all it is.

I am in compliance with the Borg.

Personally I just find it ridiculous that he decided to call himself the "Safety Ambassador". Even if he is NOW promoting safety, given that it took years of hounding from LPF members... that "title" is kind of insulting.

Alllriiiiight come on guys enough is enough. Everyone's got to rant a little bit now just relax. He's gotten better there's no point in continuing the bashing -- it's gotten a little out of hand and (dare I say) a bit childish. 3 pages (plus God knows how much else out there on this forum) of kipkay bashing to a new video where he actually promotes safety is a bit much.
