New guy, not sure where to buy from

Hello everyone,

I've been surfing around for the past few days trying to find the correct laser to buy. I stumbled upon this website, which seems to be the #1 place for discussing lasers. I was hesitant to make a new thread but after seeing the polite responses to other similar threads I'll give it a go.

I'm very new at this; I have yet to purchase any lasers at all. I'm looking for a (fairly powerful) red laser that has a thicker handle than the very slender ones I've seen quite a bit. Basically I'm trying to find a red lightsaber, as I'm a Star Wars nerd. I understand the "blade" will be just a small beam but the handle/base/hilt is mainly what I'm wondering about.

Sorry if this sort of thing is asked all the time. I just wanted to get this question out there before I hit the hay. There are so many sites that I'm not sure which to order from. Around the $100 range would be ideal.

Try get some safety glasses. When the noobs ask safety questions before where to get questions I'll stop. You do realize that what you are trying to accomplish could blind you and others permanently?

You need a lot of power to see a red beam. It may be better, but slightly more expensive to get a 635nm laser, which has a hint of orange in it, but is significantly more visible.
