Hello all,
I am new to the forums and just have a quick question. I had made a Blu-ray laser pointer from the ptr 803t diode and was wondering if I encased it in a flashlight and put proper warnings on it, would I be able to sell it on e-bay and such. I know some websites charge obscene amounts of money for lasers that powerful and was wondering if its possible to take advantage of this.

Thanks

You need the 5 safety features and an accession number from the FDA.

Key switch, interlock, emission delay, aperture shutter, and an emission indicator (usually an LED)

How would I go about getting an accession number? Once again, sorry for noob questions, I am rather new to this.

You don't.

Try Craigslist, but make sure you are selling safety goggles as well with it. Also remember that the sale of lasers >5mW is illegal without the 5 safety features. Let's face it, most of the members on here don't even know what they are, and the few that do have realized how hard and expensive it is to build them in.

i would attempt it........but i would have to find someone to design me a new driver....with a delay....plus all the extras would make it bulky and expensive......then trying to get an accession number........blah.....
