Thanks everyone for their their insight and suggestions on hookahs and fog machines!! :D

Update: I decided to turn the machine on and let it sit outdoors for 3 hours tonight to see again if it would burn anything more off and sadly it does not look to have made any difference. I looked inside and there does not seem to be any tangled wires or anything accidentally touching the heating portion. The only thing I can think is that it is just poorly designed or uses plastics that have the potential to release a lot of volatile gases when heated up....

@InfinitusEquitus - Thanks man for the really detailed description on the hookahs! :)

Yeah I don't really smoke either so I would probably only use it once in a while but I have heard that it isn't really like cigarettes at all at least regarding the smell or the taste.

On a side note, have any of you guys read about this; apparently the carcinogenic nature of cigarettes has a lot to do with the fertilizer used in them and not just the fact that the burning of something and creating smoke from it is a carcinogen. Supposedly the location where they mine the phosphorus used in the fertilizer contains a decent level of somewhat radioactive Uranium (Alpha emitter?) and that this builds up over the years in the Tobacco farm soil and ends up being in the tobacco used for the cigarettes. This is the theory why people get mouth cancer from chewing tobacco in which there is no smoke involved to be the carcinogen.

I guess the idea is that Organic tobacco is possibly less carcinogenic and also interestingly enough why the same lung cancers found in tobacco smokers have not been found in Pot smokers. I believe one of the reasons for evidence of this came from a long term study of older age long time "Ganja" smokers from Jamaica where they did not find these people to have developed lung cancer as did smokers of traditional tobacco products...

Here's a New York Times article on the Radioactivity of cigarettes and the fertilizer used if anyone is interested. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/01/opinion/01proctor.html

@jcranmer Lol. :D The hookahs reminds me also of Alice in Wonderland. I think they were aluding to something other than tobacco in that book. :p

@billg519 Thanks, I'll definitely look for it at Walmart. I think my stinky fog machine will have to be kept for outdoor use only for now. I was thinking of maybe trying to have it spray fog into a room from the outside of the house for now to keep the smell out for the meantime until I pick up a new one.

:crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup: LMFAO!

This is what happens when I try to multitask when severely hung over, and sleep deprived :p

Ah, this brings back memories of my youth. We didn't call it a hookah and we weren't using tobacco :angel:

Wait; what were we talking about again? :whistle:

Been there, done that... not for a while now though.

Imo though, it's kind of a waste of the... uhm... the stuff we're actually talking about :shhh:

Np :beer:

It's an interesting theory about tobacco. My understanding of the matter is that the leaves also go through an extensive treatment process after harvesting, both for chewing, and cigarettes. Who knows what the treatments involve.... Personally I just try to smoke as little as possible.

I like smoking electric cigarettes. Just like breathing a flavored fog machine TBH. It is pretty fun :)

I haven't used or seen many fog machines, however I don't remember there being a bad small at all, and nobody threw up. When I want my lasers to shine a little bit more, I just light a few matches or fuses.

I recently purchased a Chauvet 901 machine (discontinued model) through Amazon for 69.99 and a quart of Chauvet Fog Fluid for 7.99. I have used the machine 3 times on laser photo shoots and it worked perfectly and did not smell. I used it twice in a room approx 12' x 24' with just enough fog to enhance the beams, and once in a big warehouse area using a fan to disperse the fog in a large area to only enhance the beams. The unit worked perfectly and I used about 1/3 of a quart to accomplish this. The pics I took are in the Multi Media section of this forum I would highly recommend this unit
