Where's the best place to buy PHR diodes now? Prefer a reputable storefront, with options like in modules or not in modules, but I haven't kept up with any of this to know where to get some.

Last time I bought some of them it was from HighTechDealz, they still any good? The website looks like it hasn't been updated in a while.

So where do I look?

I would assume all 5mW 405nm pens are using PHRs. At less than $5 a piece, including module, and driver, its a no brainer.

I believe Kendall has stopped doing business. "Life" or something irrelevant like that got in the way. I believe Andrew at Modwerx has also closed up shop.

I use CajunLasers.com almost exclusively becuase of the prices and customer service.
I have never had a package take more than 5 days to reach me. Looks like they have
a 5 pack for 40.99 ($8.20 per) or $9.99 for single diodes. That is the best price I
have seen on them, as I have had to pay up to $13.00 per before.

Link for 5 pack:
PHR-805T 405nm laser diode (5 PACK) [PHR5PK] - $40.99 : Cajunlasers Store

Those are so inexpensive, 5 for $40 is amazing. Do they output atleast 100-150mW?

@sablehilt, there is tons of info on the PHR-805s on the forum,
I pushed mine to 140 mA and got ~ 130 mW.

see here: http://laserpointerforums.com/f38/quick-phr-805-build-72045.html

Turned out not to be the best idea and it only lasted about a week so I replaced
the diode and turned the current down to 100 mA and it has been pumping out
85 mW for months. I believe the general concensus is to keep it below 120 mA
or so.
