Hi, I have several small blue/purple toy laser pointers that I need to get tested on a power meter. If anyone on here who has a LPM would be willing to test one of these for me (i assume they're all about the same) I would be very grateful!

If you can help me out just PM me or post below and I'll send you one of the lasers. You can just keep it when you're done.

Thanks so much!!

Rynoburgy, you should put your location in your profile, there may be members with LPM's living near you.
The guys are probably more likely to PM you if they know your general location.

BTW, nice offer of a laser in return for an LPM measurement! :yh:

If your in Australia? Where anything over 1mw isn't legal, we have quite a few members there, I am sure someone can help you. If not, and by blue/purple toy lasers you mean 405nm pen type lasers that run on 2 AAA batteries that were really cheap that you found on eBay or Amazon or a similar Chinese site then testing one doesn't tell you much because even if you buy many of the same one they will vary in power a great deal. Cheap Chinese lasers have no quality control. Now if these are the small cat toy quality lasers that run on 3 button cells then they are far more likely to be under 5mw. Lasers that low power are more difficult to meter accurately.
