Hi,
For a 2 w drop in a Sky Ray S-R5 would be sufficient . Or a 501B with a good heat sink. 2W you can get away easy at low cost . check out survival lasers , Gary sells all the stuff you need for that. he has a nice S4 host with a copper sink and a battery exstention tube to power the build with 2- 18650's . The aluminum host would be better off with sinking compared to the Stainless steel ones.

Look at survival lasers. They have a nice cheap C6 host that works perfect for these diodes.

I know, I tried one, used a sleeve and two 123a batteries, worked great, only thing is all I could find were the units with a momentary switch. Need something with an on and off.But it worked great!

Hi Bob,
See in the first the 510 copper piece was from a mech mod copper penny . i took that and fit it by sanding the copper down to fit the 501B host. It's a little work but thats what this hobby is all about.
