I know this is getting off-topic, but:
The OP said that she is a "girl that's a friend." Note that there is a difference between "girlfriend" and "girl friend" (as in female friend).
However, I do have a feeling that he created this thread just to show off his "friend." ;D

You should hit up one of our famous constructers here, and get her a nice 405nm. Then, you better get her a nice flower (not a rose-they're way too common) and give her a kiss on the cheek when you tell her happy birth day. Oh yeah, don't forget to tell her you love her. ;D

Look around, there are a few people with exceptional building skills. I don't think you should go all out and get her a burner, but a normal ~12mW would do the trick. Hit up IgorT, he builds very professionally…

That explains the whole gift buying for impression thing.
But it DOESNT explain why you're not in her pants yet. Well, yes it does, but whatever.

i asked him already. he said its better to get a burning blu ray,as lower power ones are more expensive. i thought it would be the opposite lol. i dont want her to burn her eyes out lol. i just want a lower powered laser,that around 50$

focus on your brilliant gift, the 405nm laser. Just have him make a lower power one, or have his set it to lower milla amps.
You would do anything for your best friend....
Include anticipate the entry of your :-X into her :-X ?

ya why not have him make you one and then just turn the power down on it or run it with nimh batteries?
Wish it was that easy to get ..... if only lasers could do that much persuasion
Now what would be cool would be if you got a blue ray and red lasers and a dicro and made her a pink laser…. You may have better chances then but then again I bet the laser has better chance then you of getting the results you want

May I suggest that you build a module (Trust me, chicks dig it when something was made expecially for them). Use a cheap 803t diode and a Flexdrive set at 50mA or something (Whatever the 803t will lase at).
Then you can both go out and find a flashlight togeather that she likes and that will fit everything inside nicely. Then you go over to her house some time and show her how everything works and put it inside the flashlight while she gets to watch, wait! better yet, have her put it into the flashlight while you give her directions and show her how. You probably won't need a heatsink for such a low current but you may want to customize a washer or something just to hold the module in place.
Once you are all done she will end up with a laser half made by her and half made by you, sorta like a friendship bracelet. So whenever she messes around with it she will think of you ;D.
This really shouldn't cost that much, probably <$60 and you guys will become much closer friends. Should be around 20mW too (Good to see a beam on a foggy morning).

50Freestyle, that is one of the coolest ideas I've seen suggested. I don't care if he ever gets laid and she's way too young for me.
What you have suggested is a way to do something very nice for a friend that can allow them to become closer friends.
