Need help with exotic Laser module!

Hi,

So I got this laser module here out of a targeting gun laser system.

Now, normally the laser is red, but I wanted to replace it with an 835-850nm laser diode.
(For night time use and with Night Vision Goggels... see my sig. and you'll see what I mean)
Sadly the diode is potted in its collimator housing and there is no way to replace it.
(and the focusing ring is lock tied as well... no way to refocus that one lol )

Here a few pics:

So my last two options now are:
1. Someone knows where I can get exactly that module there.
(I have been googling for that thing now all afternoon long, no luck...)
2. I need a machinist experienced in Lasers to make me one, first pic. pictures all relevant measurements and it uses a 5.6mm LD.
I would pay for what ever it costs to build that thing. (collimator housing with spring, lens and focus nut)

I hope some one is able to help me out on this one!
You sure be rewarded if your able to! :)

I could machine that.

Let me know if you're interested, I'll have to finish up the internal part of the design, I'll post it, and if you're happy we can get it made.

It'll be like, ten bucks. What do you say?

If you intent to use Aixiz lenses with that, I'd suggest widening the right part of it to at least 11 mm - so the threads can be cut nicely. I can MAYBE squeze it into 10.5 mm.

It's difficult cutting 9.5mm threads into 9.5mm OD metal :p

Well I am going to need to find smaller lenses then!

(Btw... the lens needs to sit in the left part)

Let that be my headache, the given measures are fix, cant change them or else the whole system wont work properly.

Edit: found a good lens: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Laser-Colli...-Diameter-Aspherical-Glass-Lens-/261254650427

Thanks!

11mm focus means there needs to be 11 millimeters from the lens to your diode - that's almost the entire module's length, plus, you're going to lose a LOT of the diode's light before it reaches the lens that far.

I would HIGHLY recommend you revise your designs to accommodate M9 threaded lens. I already have a tap&die set for cutting those threads, plus it'll make focusing the lens a LOT easier, PLUS it can easily be upgraded for 3-element or G1/G2 type lens whenever you wish.
