Okay, Hello everyone guys. I'm thinking about buying a powerful laser that can pop balloons or light matches. I had 30MW green laser.

Which one should i choose?

Power Rock waterproof Red laser torch 250mW /Focusable [OL-PRRL250] - $54.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce
High Power 50mW Green laser wand /Wide beam/focuasable [OL-OWDG-50] - $54.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce
Power Rock Green laser Torch 50mW /Focusable&Waterproof [OL-MRGL50] - $36.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce
Silver chrome green laser 100mW/good finish [OLSGL100] - $62.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

Please, Help me choosing a good laser which will be able to pop balloons and light up matches. And yeah, it should be visible at night, Cause it looks cool :D

:thanks:

If you want a laser that is easily visible at night, I suggest you go with the green 50mW laser. However, if you want to definitely pop balloons, go with the green 100mW model.

Of course, and I don't mean to patronise you, but just make sure you have experience before buying the 1W models that appear a lot in the B/S/T section.

Trying to locate info about ORB2 Military Tactical Green Handheld Laser Pointer 532nm - website does not indicate power level and I've searched and searched and come up empty handed. This forum group seems pretty knowledgeable. Any idea on the power level of the ORB 2 ( sells for $130 bucks ) Thanks

I don't think i will ever buy 250MW> lasers, because they are too expensive and dangerous.

I have a serious question but really how much more dangerous is a 50mw compared to a 1W or 2W. Both will blind you. Both can burn your skin. Both are extremely dangerous if not handled properly. I'm a noob not trying to be sarcastic but what am I missing.

50MW can't burn your skin i believe, until your skin is black [No racist]
1W = 1000 MW, More MW = More laser power.
So yeah, 200MW can light a match, 1W can burn trough plastic.

I would really consider going with lazerer.com .

O-like is great and trustworthy, but from my experience their lasers have been less powerfull then advertised, while at Lazerer you are almost gauranteed a more powerful laser (and usually up to 100Mw more powerful) then advertised.

Just something to think about in the future. O-like does however have some nifty looking lasers. I think both companies are about the same in reliability so you did a great job in picking a safe place to purchase. :)

Speaking of safe, don't forget to get the correct laser goggles you will need as already mentioned.;)

Yeah, good job on being sensible. Well in time, you may get to operate higher powered lasers. Just do whatever suits you! ^.^
