So i saw a laser randomly on the net a few days ago and was hooked from the second i saw it. I've been browsing around to try and find a decent, well priced 500mw+ laser for a few days and out of the ones i've found i've narrowed it down to these 3;

Green Laser Pointer adjustable star burn matches pop balloon ...USD100.32 Wholesale Price at DHgate.com

1W 445nm Blue laser pointer , $170.00 - 1w.1000mW .445nm blue laser pointer,1W 445nm laser pointer,445nm blue laser.1w 445nm laser pointer.1000mW 445nm laser.

Green Laser Pointer, 1000mW, 532Nm,Adjustable...USD107.63 Wholesale Price at DHgate.com

I was just wondering if anyone could offer me advice on which of these to buy, also if any of these compare to the brightness/range of the spyder arctic III (Which i originally planned to buy).
Thanks :)

All of those lasers will be underspec, please don't buy them. Maybe you should start off with a lower-powered laser for your first, 500mW+ of laser is a lot of laser.

The lower powered one's don't bother me much, i'd rather just get one really powerful one and just stick with that. If all of those will be non-legit then the only cheap high power laser i can think of is the arctic III (although the wait on those are over a month and i hear of complaints about those being underspec.

Yeah I very much doubt you could get a true 1W greenie for $116 I'd go with a trusted company like O-Like or Rayfoss, and as Prototype said I'd go with a lower spec laser with Safety goggles !!! and welcome to LPF

The low power ones don't seem anywhere as cool as the higher power ones, how about all the links on this forum site. will the items for sale on those be legit? or still a bit iffy?

depends realy some are good, some are bad, if you see one you like just ask around and someone will put you right :)

If you just want to burn stuff, pop baloons, light matches etc then a 100mW will still do the job and I think you would still be impressed with what they can do !

Honestly, if you start with something very powerful, especially like 1W, there WILL be safety concerns. You need something to practice with. None of us here want to endorse you saying "I wonder what happens if...." while holding a 1W laser. With a lower power laser, you might get away with a few mistakes (accidentally shining it up close, and the myriad of other possible safety issues), but with a 1W there is quite little margin for error.

That's the reasoning behind this. Also if you start low, its going to be AWESOME. Like unless you've seen a green laser, or seen the beam of a laser at night, you will be impressed. You won't be thinking "oh I wish I would have bought more power." Then later you can upgrade. Now when I look back at my first lasers I wonder how I ever though they were cool. O-Like and Rayfoss, as already referenced, both sell quality and cheap lasers. Start with a 50-100mw green in my opinion.

If it's your first laser, I'd suggest a 532nm green model. Green lasers produce the brightest beams and even a 20-50mW unit will seem very bright, especially at night.

500mW or higher is not a contender for being a "first laser." There's no margin for mistakes at these power levels, and should really only be used by those that have prior experience.

Buy a lower powered laser to start, get a green one as it will be impressive, then once you are familliar with how a laser reacts to different surfaces, all the safety precautions etc, move up to more powerful units and even DIY projects. Like all new things, there's a learning process and in the long run you will be greatful you followed it.

I have no problem with the safety department, most of the precautions taken seem like common sense to me.
I've watched a lot of videos which most explain the risks involved, besides i don't plan on making a mistake with any laser because any mistake with any laser can be a major mistake.
I'm not so interested in the burning/popping balloon side of them, i'm interested in a bright beam of light that will shine for miles.
I don't think i could afford to keep upgrading the lasers either, which is why im asking here to make sure i can get the best possible laser within my budget because it will probably be the one i stick with for a very long time.
(thanks for the advice given so far btw, nice to see people in this community are happy to help :) )

Edit: also looking for one with a long duty circle

Double post but, decided on the spartan 1000mw 447nm for cheapness trustworthy source size and ease of dealing with the company.
