Okay here we go. So I was casually talking to my internet friend today and we happened to get into a conversation about lasers and how he owns a few and what not. So he isn't what you would say a laser expert. He doesn't have any experience working on them but just owns a few of them.
The one he is experiencing a problem with is an Arctic S3 (I believe that's the model). Yeah not my favorite choice but hey, he don't know much about lasers. I'm pointing him in this direction as we speak.
I am not sure how the arctic is made up, if it has a separate module for the modes from the driver or what not. The problem he has is that whenever he turns it on high power it goes on for about 2 seconds then shuts off instantly. He said it runs fine for however long he needs in low power but just high power cuts off. He already tried fully charged batteries and even ordered a new set just in case, still no luck. Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this? Is it a common problem? If there was a warranty with it, it is probably long gone as he ordered it 6 months ago and even if it did, you know who we are dealing with. I told him he might be better off just having the internals replaced with some quality parts and use the host but I don't think he will go for it.
So does anyone know what could be wrong? If it is possible would anyone be willing to fix it, for compensation of course. It could be shipped or if you live local he is in Morgantown Virginia.
