Hi everyone, time to do register and first post!!

I´m an occasional visitor, I spent most my time on flashligt related sites (BLF). Now I have some troubles with finding a laser.

What I´m trying to find:
-Laser Line Generator
-...but it must be battery operated
-Color red, but not important
-No need to be powerful, approx 10ft of throw should be enough (5mW -> 20mW??)
-Will be an aiming laser for brake press, industrial use. Case/body should be aluminum/metal.
-No need to be water tight.
-18650 compatibility would be just great, could do with runtime of even a 16340.
-Cost not too important, still rather not Sky-High!

OK, so I have browsed Google and eBay for these.
I can fond TONS of line generators, which are mains / PSU operated.
I even bought couple 5mW red ones to different machine at work, cost under 10$ works like a charm and makes work so much easier for my friend at work!!

...but I can find only SPOT lasers when it comes down to battery operated ones.

Where to get one battery operated laser line generator OR can I get a SPOT one and change something? A lens?

Thats all :undecided:

Re: n00b cannot find Laserline Generators.

Aixiz laser has some lenses you can use in any handheld as long as it has a aixiz type 12mm module. You could have a pretty cheap 650nm handheld made, and use one of those line lenses. Or make sure the handheld you purchase has a 12mm module with access to the lens for replacement.

Funny you say that becaise that was my answer last week over on BLF
Where to buy Laser Line Generator?? | BudgetLightForum.com

The host doesn't matter, the laser doesn't matter. You will not find one in the 5-20mW range so safery glasses will be needed due to reflections. At that point its pointless since the safety glasses will block your vision of the line.

IMO you wknt findnwhat you are looking for unless you have a custom builder, build you a legit 5-10mW laser and then pop in one of the lens we have told you about.
Anything over 5mW can do permanent damage to the human eye

Re: n00b cannot find Laserline Generators.

I could probably make some old flashligth a host.
I´m really surprised they don´t make them ready....

Last time I bought just cheapo LLG´s from net, they kept the claimed mW rating within reasonable accuracy so we just soldered them to small PSU´s.
This time using wires makes things too difficult...

Many 5mw laser line generators seem to claim operating voltage to be 3V-5V so I guess they would run out just fine with one 18650.

So basically I bought a host and fitted a generic laser line module in it.
P60 dropin and reflector inside, does not look too ****** but nevermind, it is for work use.

Module is epoxied down against reflector. I used a generic 16mm driver as positive battery end "stopper", just removed all components and wired it directly...
