I recently bought an Arctic from phoenix77/
with Express insured shipping. He is an excellent man, shipped one day after payment. I have the tracking number: EG901433603US
The status has to change from Saturday ! I contacted my local post office and they said that it is at customs in Athens. Nothing else.
I contacted phoenix77 (Rob) and he said that on the customs form he put 300$
and LED parts. I found that i have to pay 24% of the price so 72$.
I must admit that when i ordered a Laserbee from Jerry, the value was 125$ but i didnt payed anything !

Dont know what to do, any ideas ?

Greece is in EU right?

If im right you need to pay the taxes. (when you order something from outside EU, and price is over 43 euros, you need pay 23-24% more of the items privce.)

That's how it is in Finland..

Maybe if Jerry marked the LPM as "gift" they couldnt ask you to pay the taxes - they dont know the original price.

When we import to Canada we are charged Duty and Canadian Taxes
on any value over $20.00.

When importing to the USA Duty and US Taxes are charged on any Value
over $200.00.

That Duty/Tax deciding line is different for different countries...
You will need to contact your Customs offices to know for sure.

As to the time frame... we have had Canadian Customs hold onto
packages from 3 days to 6 months and there was nothing we
could do but wait...

BTW... We are a registered Canadian company and we don't mark
products shipped out of Canada as gifts unless they are gifts.

So either we dont have to pay taxes here in Greece or we pay taxes for products over 200$ or euros. Hope i wont pay or pay a little !

I had to pay like $110 of taxes for my argon which came from the US.It was marked as $300. Go figure.

Nothing to do for now but wait. I had a package held at customs for a week... than it was released. No sticker on it, or anything, and it wasn't opened (it was a laser:p) so I'm guessing they were just backlogged.

AFAIK you do have to pay taxes unless it is declared as a gift:(

Told them, I don't want to pay. Sent it back!

It's more expensive to sent the package back, so they'll sent it to you without taxes.
If they sent it back, speak with seller and tell him to ship it again with low price.

How much did they tell you to pay and what was the price on the form ?

Didn't saw that one comming ^^
