my first LOC from scratch!

i've made lasers before but i've always bought the diodes harvested and in modules along with buying assembled drivers ect...

today i got my rckstr micro driver kit along with the LG 22x burner from new egg, so i assembled the driver (very nicely too i might add), and harvested the diode with minimum difficulty, set it in the module and used a crude heatsink i made.
got it all together on my first attempt and it's running great at 420mA in the coleman max host on 2x CR2 batteries..

Thats great! Building lasers can be a little frustrating but when you get it right it feels so satisfying.

If you keep it where it is it will last a long time (just don't try to "modify" it).
