That's really the most healthy way to smoke .You'll be able to see the next day!
<--------- see this guy gets it. But seriously vaporizer would be better on the lungs and trust a cig smoker who occasional lights his cig with a 3w. Your eyes will hate you! And you will regret this decision unless you plan on putting on goggles every time you light up. That takes the cool factor back down to lighter status. But if your hearts set , it set. It's our duty to let you know what could happen.

Im really not sure whats up with you. You are shoving safety down his throat a little too much. Sure redirect him to some safety threads and maybe even a thread where someone actually got hit in the eye with a laser so he can see what can happen but calm down. Laser safety is very important obviously but when you say "Do you know you could be blinded permanently?" is it possible yes of course. Is it likely... No. The usual eye damage you get from a laser isn't usually permanent unless you get hit directly in the eye. I am able to shine my 1.8W 445nm is my room (which is not big) without safety glasses without a problem

Also as for the "herb" do you really think the FDA or FEDs are going to go after someone for smoking a little "herb" ?

Im just saying chill out a bit nobody wants to have shit shoved down their throat.

Ok I've been warned! I already own two vaporizers! The piece I plan on using it with has the bowl far from my face. Over a foot. this is not to be cool this is to use alone so I don't care about wearing goggles they will be on everytime I use the thing. I have no reason to ever risk it, I see it on the same level as drinking and driving. I am doing this because I love lasers just like you guys and I love smoking herb. Now that I can afford to mix the two I'm going to. Finally there are lots of legal smoking herbs so don't jump to any conclusions, I visit my local tobacco shop regularly, even if I was taking about weed its legal here. I hope I answered most of your concerns now can I please get some actual help? Thank you

Okie dokie. A c6 is a flashlight host. Run a m140 diode at 1.8a. This will give you plenty power, and the optimum size for ripping a tube with photons!

And for the record flutter pie, I was the one saying that he has been warned and if his heart is set go for it. No shit shoving intended my friend.

every noob without proper safety procedures is another bullet in the barrel of the FDA. If being safe was a bad thing then safety glasses wouldnt have been created :D

I apologize for starting a civil war on your forum. The Spartan is $240 and another reason I'm doing this is because I love building things so I'm definitely going to build one. Tmack that's perfect! Could I get a little more info on that setup im not super familiar with the laser lingo yet.

No prob. Your host aka the housing would be a Cree flashlight. The c6 . It's a very common laser host and is small and sleek. The driver can be found along with the diode from dtr laser shop. It would be the m140 445nm diode with a pre wired driver running at 1.8a. You can specify for the driver to come prewired and running at this aperage already. The lens you would want is a lens for burning a g2. This lens allows most power out of the diode, and since your concerned with burning and not a pretty dot the g2 is perfect. With this set up you will be lighting your own 6 footer for a change ;) when focused . You will have around a 1500-2000 mw blue laser perfect for your application.

i will help you because it appears safety is a hot topic. check out jayrob. search on the bottom and find his products. after that find his c6 host. then buy the m140 (445nm) diode from dtr. locate a driver or just buy the module with one, and solder it together. dang tmack beat me to it ;)

Fran151 I am working on a kit it will be a 1W+ 445nm blue laser 5.6mm diode the kit comes with all the parts you need to make a laser comes with a C8 Q5 balck host with glasses and batteries charger and my very good heat sink for $79 free shipping USA the diode will be a 445nm. I have got from 1w to 2w from some diode, driver is preset at 1800ma most will be around 1.3w to 1.5w but I have got some 1.7w with the 2 element lens. will have them as soon as the drivers come in,I hope this week.

This sounds perfect! Let me know when they come in! Ill compare it to these other parts that the guys seem to be fans of and have a decision by the time your parts come in! :drool:

This is exactly what I described in one nice easy kit. I have a 3.4 w c8 from Rick Trent and its a great laser. Unbeatable price by the way. Ill do you a favor fran151. Look no further, you found it,,,,,or it found you. Yes it can focus.
