Nice first build! Unless I missed it somewhere above, would you care to explain your choice for the name?

I've seen folks light a match and put it in a clear glass bottle and put tape over the mouth of the bottle for a quick smoke chamber. But then you have to take a picture through a bottle.

Pucho- For the most part you will need a camera with manual settings so that you can at least adjust the shutter speed of the lens and also the ISO at the very least. ALL about letting in more light over a longer period of time = higher photo clarity and definition. Not saying that you can't get a beam shot with your phone camera. Try darkening a room just a little so that the beam is visible but still some light coming from behind you.

I think she named it after herself, a Redneck Newfoundlander.

Really great first build. I like that 903 host, I have one myself. +rep for a successful first build.

Beautiful job and also thank you for the pointers I see you've shown in explaining your build as I will now try to learn from them myself (I would be just as capable of making the same mistake at first with the heatsink).

Sonn as soon as I get in my new module from DTR (a 405nm 700mW) I will be putting together a similar build. I already have in the host I ordered from Survival Laser for it, just waiting on the module (maybe in today or Monday).
