Host: Similar to Dilda new style adjustable
http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/focusing-laser-host-deal-48374.html

Diode: 650nm diode RLD65PZB5

Driver: rkcstr v3
I adjusted it to 378ma output going by all the graphs I have seen on this forum. Thanks for the graphs!

Batteries: Juice 3.6v (4.2v max) unprotected
Juice Brand Rechargeable Photo Lithium CR2 Batteries - eBay (item 120494041609 end time Mar-16-10 10:59:07 PDT)

Misc:
- Dummy Load from rkcstr to set driver current
- diode press from flaminpyro

Total time took about 1 to 2 hours. There is room for improvement I think ;).

I feel pretty good about this build so it definitely encourages me to do more. I plan to do another build with a 6x diode sometime soon as I have time.

Video of it burning my coffee table's leg on vimeo is below. Shhhhh... don't tell the wife.

:gj: I did the very same build, except I used a LCC red. I noticed the lens on these have the blue coating, wondering if it will affect the 405nm diode.

In reguards to the coffee table leg...your secret is safe :D

Cheers,

Ray

I read the thread title and thought "450nm? Whaaaat?!"

Great build though, keep it up!

twhite828, lol. 450nm. Fixed the title. Thanks for letting me know. I didn't even notice. At least I got right in the main post.

Lonewolf, The host instructions show a 405nm build so I am hopeful that they will work just fine with 405nm. Yobresal has built a few of these hosts with 405nm diodes. I assume he used the included glass lens but I don't know for sure.
