Does anyone know/look up if you can purchase high powered handheld lasers in Florida? I am visiting a friend there and i might send it to his house then ship it to mine in pieces (I live in MA so i think it is impossible to ship here).

Also does anyone know if this site is legit? I want to buy this laser do you think I won't get ripped off? Buy green laser pointer, laser pointer, higher power green laser pointer, real 500mw green laser pointers focusable lasers torch burn black matches/broke balloon at Aliexpress.com

Laser pointers over 5mW are illegal in the USA... A quick google search could have told you that.

Also, no. None of those lasers will come even close to what they advertise. A quick search on LPF could have told you to stick with the reliable companies. Lazerer, O-like, jetlasers, CNI lasers, laserglow ect.

That's not true. Lasers over 5mW can be legal in the US if they meet FDA certifications.

The site says they ship to the usa so would they just be confiscated? I don't care if the 500mw laser ends up being 100mw thats still a good deal in my opinion, and if i order from lazerer, O-like, Jetlasers, ect. will they ship to Florida or MA?

I might start another thread on this just to be sure I don't want to waste my money... and I don't think they will ship to MA since laser pointers over 5mw are illegal, I'm just not too sure about florida.

They will ship it anywhere you want. If it actually gets to you is up to customs.

Do some reading around, all the info is out there.

They can all ship world wide. I have never heard of a laser being confiscated from them. What if the laser ends up being 5mW? What then? You are not guaranteed anything when buying from a site like that. You also should not be supporting bad business practices like that... Please don't send them your money.

Your state is just like the rest of us here in the US... Plenty of us here order online. Ive bought a few and never had one confiscated. I think you are just being paranoid honestly.

Thank you for clearing that up and Yes i was paranoid since I have never bought a laser over 5mw online. I thought high powered lasers were allowed in some states and not others so I'm not sure?

It's a USA wide ban. Again, a quick google search could have told you this easily...

I just got back from vacation in Florida, and I took with me a 100mW red 650nm laser and a 30-50mW green laser(532nm). I just took the batteries out, stuck them in ziplocks and shoved them into the pocket of my 1 carry on bag. I almost put them into my checked baggage, but I worried that the rough handling by the baggage guys putting it into the belly of the airplane might break them.

But I must say that both of these 2 lasers are overspec, and they purport to be only <5mW, but have been measured here at much higher numbers. So I probably wouldnt have gotten in any trouble, and maybe they wouldve just been confiscated or something.

I brought them down to show to my Uncle who I visited after spending time in SE Florida at our condo. I ended up giving him the red laser pointer, as I have another one just like it.

I just went to order the laser and it wants me to put in any comments what do you guys suggest I say? I am going to say to label it as a flashlight anything elese?
