A while back I followed a guide in another forum to mod my Microsoft Sidewinder x4 keyboard.
I replaced all the Red LED's with blue ones. This is the guide I followed
changing the backlighting x4
Although I am reasonably happy with the result it has now occured to me that it may be possible to use a laser and replace the 10 LEDS backlighting the keys with a single laser. I havent had a look to see if this is physically possible but my question is. In principle, from what you can see by looking at all the pages of this guide, would it be feasible to link a laser diode and backlight the keyboard with it, and get good light coverage with a single laser? Also would it stay within the parameters of the power specs for usb without blowing up anything on my motherboard?
Also could I achieve this with a 1mw laser?
