Big deal tonight with this story showing someone pointing the laser at a couple helos. I believe they said over 5000 strikes this year and 50 plus jail sentences overall. Someone should find the vid and post. Actually I think I just found it.
Sickens me. Tired of morons. They mentioned that ALL > 5mW lasers are illegal but you can still buy them online.

Noticed someone else posted on a story like this from this morning. Don't know if they are the same exact ones or more was added or taken away.

Just saw it on NBC evening news, western edition. Saw the part claiming all lasers over 5mw, blah blah. Last week drones, this week lasers. I of course wish morons had no access
to any type of laser.
God loves idiots. He made millions of em.

Im starting to see more and more dangerous scenarios "obviously" the more news reports I see. My ignorance at first was thinking that they are targeting commercial jets and how dare they risk 100,s of lives, then police helicopters to private planes (which I think is the most danger) and after seeing this report not realizing they can and are pointing at medical copters. These weasles are just finding different ways to kill someone. Im thinking that soon airplanes and copters etc, are going to be fitted with some type of safety shaded glass that will end up coming out of our pocket. Report says its teens and people in their early 20.s. When I was that age I might have put my life at danger with stupid stunts but never anyone elses. I know the good ones here have the same morals. Mabey its time to stock up on some modules:undecided: I have yet to be pointed at driving under an overpass but it will happen that im sure of

The problem is, essentially, that you can't outlaw being a kid...and for some people, that goes up to their 30's.

I remember being a kid, and so forth, and, well, kids have no sense of consequences...and even when a kid is older, its underdeveloped.

My brother and a friend of his took sling shots (now illegal in NJ), and busted out ~ all the windows of a new 3 story office building facing the woods they were firing from.

It was a lot of expensive windows, and, it was pointless vandalism. He was ~ 12 years old, I was ~ 14.

He and his friend really didn't think of it from the standpoint of the building owner/tenants.

They were just wandering around, saw the building, and were thinking, hey, can you hit it from here? The glass breaks, there's a loud noise, it was fun....so they kept going, until the police arrived and arrested them.

I KNOW how that happens, mentally, but have to go back to being maybe 4 years old or so to fully have a personal example, as a reference for this sort of bone headed obliviousness.

I was 4, I had crayons, I started to draw on my bedroom wall, and, liked it, and kept going...and, my mom walked in, looked at the ~ 10 square feet or so of "art", and THEN I looked at it, and saw what SHE saw, which wasn't art, it was drawing all over the wall...vandalism essentially.

I didn't honestly think about the fact that I was drawing on the wall, so much as that I was simply drawing, on the wall...I didn't REALIZE I was doing something "wrong", and that I regretted, until AFTERWARDS.

So, that's how it works in a nutshell. Kids are morons.

:D

If the moron has access to the internet, he can order whatever is for sale, and, use it in whatever way he wants to.

A GROUP of kids is even more dangerous than one, as they play off of each other, a mob mentality essentially.

They do whatever they think the others would do...so if no one says, hey, this is a bad idea, its game on.

Enforcement will ONLY reduce the aircraft laser strikes by those who have enough of a developed sense of consequence...the less developed are simply jailbait.

This country, and many others, suffer from a retroactive reaction to specifics.

In NYC for example, a man was hit by a car he didn't hear coming, because he was wearing a Sony Walkman. They banned wearing Sony Walkman, but not other brands of portable players/radios with earpieces, etc.

And so forth.

If a kid lasers a plane, they ban lasers, not lasering planes.

If someone shoots up a school with a gun with a carrying handle, they ban guns with carrying handles.

And so forth.
