hi
i just found out yesterday that these lasers existed
and i think i want one
can anyone tell me if there is a big difference between 55mw and 75mw?
will the 75 mw be allot brighter and visible?
i also wanted to ask if dragonlasers are cheap when compared to others in terms of quality/price
im interested in these two:

Viper Series 55mW Green Laser Pointer | Dragon Lasers

Viper Series 75mW Green Laser Pointer | Dragon Lasers

is there a company that has better product for cheaper price?

are these good lasers where the beam is visible during day and night?
when i shine in the air at night will everybody see that light when they are like say half a mile away? when half mile away and you look at the beam will it be thick or nearly impossible to see thin..?
because on some videos the beam is thick and then at some its very very thin...
thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forums. Where are you from?

Your eyes may or may not be able to see the difference from 55mW and 75mW. Green is very visible and bright so if you are interested in sky pointing either of these will do nicely. If you want a laser that will burn things, light matches, etc... you will need something with a focusable lens, and will will better with something 200mW or more.

For example, I have a 1.4W and a 1.8W blue laser, which both burn very well.

Some pictures show the beam better than others, it depends a lot on the camera and its settings.

thanks
im from belgium
so the beam of these two lasers is the same in brightness / visibility?

Viper Series 55mW Green Laser Pointer | Dragon Lasers

Viper Series 75mW Green Laser Pointer | Dragon Lasers

are these price good or expensive for those lasers? are there other lasers that are cheaper with the same quality?

i dont want to burn things
but i do want a bright beam than is visible during day and super visible during night
if i shine both of those lasers in the night to the sky, will someone be able to see the beam when he is like 500 meters away?
or is the beam too thin to notice from 500 meters?
thanks

Well while I was at work yesterday I left a response but it guess it just never went through...

Anyway welcome to the forum!

Both are great choices! I have owned both.
You will not be able to see the beam outside during the day but during night you will be able to see the beam easily. These are both amazing lasers. :D

As far as quality these are the BEST pen style pointers you can get PERIOD! You could get similar lasers for far less but keep in mind that the quality will be less too. These have incredible beam quality and are usually over spec meaning that you will get a higher output then what the specifications say. My 55mw DL viper did 110mW and my 75mW did just over 120mW.

The nice thing about these lasers is that they are IR filtered so you truly get green laser power! :san:

Many 532nm lasers that are much cheaper will say that they are 75mW but in reality you do get 75mW but you only get that 75mW because 30mW of the light is IR light and 45mW of 532nm light that = 75mW... So it can be misleading. ;)

Generally you get what you pay for when it comes to 532nm lasers but dont get ripped off either. Just because a website sells a laser for $500 doesnt mean that is makes it a credible company. So check the forum stickies and rules for tips and lists of trust-able companies(Dragon lasers is GREAT!).

Oh and make sure you get safety goggles too! Dont want to burn your eyes!

I hope this helped! Cheers!

Welcome to the forum! :D
From where in Belgium are you? Me and Blord are from Limburg.

On topic: There won't be much difference between 55mW and 75mW I guess, but I had a 75mW green pointer and was not satisfied with its beam. (That is, coming from a 2000mW 445nm :p)

Now I have a 450mW greenie which is muuuuch better for me :) Even the 216mW penstyle pointer I have doesn't have such a nice solid beam at night. For daytime visibility you'll need A LOT more power :p
